LumiCV

CV templates by country

A CV that reads as normal in one market can read as wrong in another. These 11 formats match what employers in that market actually expect - the sections they look for, the details they commonly include, and the ones they would rather you left off.

Every format is free, ATS-parse-tested, and switchable at any time without losing your content.

Country CV format FAQ

Does the CV format really change by country?

For some markets, substantially. A German Lebenslauf is tabular and often includes a photo and date of birth, though neither is required. A Japanese rirekisho is a fixed grid form. An Australian CV usually leaves off a photo and date of birth. Others differ far less - an Irish or Canadian CV is close to a standard reverse-chronological resume, which is why we do not publish a separate template for every country. Where the format genuinely differs, we ship a template for it.

Which country template should I use if my target market is not listed?

Use Classic or Minimal. Both are reverse-chronological, ATS-safe and accepted across markets that have no distinctive local format. Adding a country label to a template that is structurally identical would not change what a recruiter receives.

Do I need to write my CV in the local language?

It depends on the employer, not the country. International and tech employers in Germany, the Netherlands and the Nordics typically hire in English. Domestic employers, public sector roles and smaller companies usually expect the local language. If the job posting is written in the local language, that is your answer.

Are the country templates free?

Yes. All 11 country formats (Europass plus ten countries) and the 3 ATS templates are on the free plan, which includes 2 resumes, unlimited PDF downloads and tracking for 50 job applications. Pro adds 14 more templates and unlimited AI tailoring and cover letters.

Will a country-specific template still pass an ATS?

Yes. Every template is parse-tested: we render it to PDF and check that a parser reads each field back in order. Exported PDFs are real text, never images.
