Research scientist resumes are evaluated more like a CV than a typical industry resume - publications, citations, and conference presence sit above industry experience. The strongest research scientist resumes lead with a one-paragraph research statement (your thesis area + what you're optimising for next), then a 'Selected Publications' block with the venue and your authorship position bolded. List Google Scholar h-index if it's flattering. For industry research roles, also include a section on impact-on-product: which papers translated into shipping systems, with a one-line measurable result.
